Prayer for a new imagination

Heavenly Father,

we pray that you will give us a new imagination for the coming of your kingdom in South Africa.

We pray that you will pour out your Spirit, Lord,

so that we will be able to see visons and dream dreams

of a world in which people respect and embrace one another.

We dream of your kingdom to come so that justice will prevail.

We pray for a just and vibrant economic dispensation

that will provide opportunities for all.

We pray that our families will be restored

to be spaces of spiritual and moral formation.

We pray for a season of listening, reconciliation and forgiveness.

We pray that South Africa will epitomise respect for the God-given dignity of every human being.

We pray for a country cleansed of racism, patriarchy, corruption and coercion,

where everyone spends the freedom that our constitution provides

on the joy of loving and serving.

We ask that you will enable us to embody these dreams

and become living testimonies of life as it is in heaven.

This we pray in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
