Soak our country in Prayer (PDF Slides)

The SACC National Churches Forum chaired by the Archbishop of Cape Town, the Rt. Rev Thabo Makgoba has called for us to pray for the promise of post- apartheid South Africa.

The promise
of a just, reconciled and equitable society
free of racial, tribal, xenophobic and
gender prejudices,
free of corruption and deprivation,
and with enough food and shelter for every citizen; and for each child born
to grow to their God-given potential.

Our prayers are in the first place
prayers of gratitude
but also of repentance, confession and lament.
We pray out of our own vulnerability
because we actually do not know how to pray
but we know the Spirit groans within us (Romans 8).

The prayers are about the topics identified by the SACC and ordered according to the Lord’s Prayer.

May this 10-day prayer cycle help us soak our country in prayer.
